A. Joining Process
  1. How do I signup as a GBS Team member for the 'Model Me' Competition?
    Signup during this pilot phase is by invitation only. If you are a GBS member, please consult your GBS Officer or Facilitator about joining or forming a team.
  2. How do I signup as a GBS Officer/Facilitator?
    Signup during this pilot phase is by invitation only. If you are a GBS Officer or Facilitator, you may register your team here.
  3. Can I sign up as a visitor or member of public?
    ValuesVenture is in pilot phase and currently restricted to members from our Founding Partner, Girls' Brigade Singapore. Do check back in a few months for availability of sponsored general member accounts.
  4. I'm not from GBS. Can I signup for an organisational preview?
    ValuesVenture is in pilot phase and currently restricted to members from our Founding Partner, Girls' Brigade Singapore. Please send us an email at if you'd like to get in touch for inclusion in subsequent phases, whether as an individual or organisation. ValuesVenture is a collaborative learning gateway that will support inter-organisational conversation and collaboration for values education.
B. GBS National Competition
  1. How many teams may a company send?
    There is no limit to the number of teams a company may send.
  2. What is the closing date for registration of teams?
    The closing date for registration is Sunday 15 Feb 2009.
  3. What are Officers/Facilitators responsible for?
    Officers/Facilitators should (i) help organise team participation and completion of their Ventures and (ii) facilitate the 4 Check-In points at the end of each Venture stage, which is completed online and with some face time. In general, Officers should help teams focus on the Venture process to maximize the values learning opportunities, and not simply the delivery of the Venture product.
  4. What is the competition structure for Company Awards?
    'Model Me' is a GBHQ national competition for 2009 with points for participation and achievement. For Company Awards, companies may garner a maximum of 10 points, or 5 from participation and 5 from achievement point categories of Gold, Silver and Bronze. C. Venture System
  1. How are Teams guided through the Venture stages?
    After registering online, teams will be guided through the Venture stages through interactive online modules. These online modules consist of essential questions and Venture tips that are accessible to teams and facilitators from the website. On clearing a stage, teams proceed to Check-In. Facilitators may review answers given to both the essential questions and the Check-In.
  2. What are Check-Ins and why are they important?
    Check-Ins are where Facilitators guide the reflection and insights needed to foster growth. Check-In questions span 3 Areas of Learning: (i) Social Learning centers on the aspects of working in a team to impact a target group in society; (ii) Emotional Learning focuses on the inner journey of forming personal dispositions, values and identity; (iii) Adventure Learning reflects on the experiences with real-world challenges.
